Workshop: Writing Mathematics in LaTeX

It's by no means easy for a blind person to write mathematical formulae such that they can be read by sighted people, and that they even look nice for them. The codes in which blind people normally write Mathematics are hard to read by sighted ones, and, if a sighted person managed to learn such a code, then it won't appeal to him/her from an esthetic viewpoint.

This workshop is about the multi-OS high level, numerical mathematics software Octave. It is focussed on giving the listener a short introduction into the paradigm of the program and introduce the audience to basic usage in the field of mathematical analysis. This is done by means of simple examples, leading up to a complete curve sketching.

SU 2012 was a well-organized and fruitful event. Participants and workshop leaders took the chance to learn quite a lot from each other. We are currently planing for next years' SU in Germany, Bad Herrenalb (Karlsruhe).
