Self presentation

Dr. Neil Soiffer, Design Science – is a senior scientist with expertise in math user interface design and with accessibility issues related to math. He earned a B.S. in Mathematics at MIT and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science at U.C. Berkeley. At Design Science, Dr. Soiffer is in charge of MathPlayer’s development and leads Design Science's accessibility efforts. Prior to joining Design Science, Dr. Soiffer worked at Wolfram Research where he designed and implemented Mathematica’s math editor and notebook front-end programmability. Dr. Soiffer chaired DAISY’s MathML working group and is a member of the NIMAS board; he was a principal architect for the W3C’s MathML specification and remains active in the working group; he is a member of EPUB's working group that developed a standard for e-books and AIIM’s PDF/UA (Universal Accessibility) working group.
